Creation of a landscaped planting bed in Goult

In Goult, our team transformed an area around existing plane trees to create a large landscaped planting bed with soft, natural lines that blends seamlessly into the garden.

The presence of the trees and the nature of the terrain called for careful soil preparation while preserving the existing trees. After clearing the overgrown vegetation, we added soil enriched with compost produced in-house, then cultivated and levelled the ground to provide the new plants with the best possible growing conditions.

Flat steel edging, shaped and welded on site, defines the curves of the planting bed and creates a clean transition between the lawn and gravel areas. The planting scheme combines shrubs, perennials, ornamental grasses and flowering plants, selected for their suitability to the Luberon climate and to provide successive blooms throughout the seasons.

A drip irrigation system delivers water directly to the base of the plants while keeping consumption to a minimum. Finally, the planting bed was covered with wood chips produced in-house: a natural mulch that retains soil moisture, suppresses weeds and makes use of green waste from our landscaping projects.

The result : two years after its creation, the planting bed is fully established and flourishing. The plants and seasonal blooms naturally complement the existing plane trees, creating a harmonious, vibrant landscape that blends seamlessly into its surroundings.
